Job Title: Financial Controller

About the Role: Our client is searching for an experienced Financial Controller to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial management, preferably within the financial services sector. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. They will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing best practices in financial governance. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial reporting process, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions, including monitoring liquidity and investment activities
  • Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory standards (IFRS, UK GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry preferred
